You really must squeeze this latest shopping event into Thursday’s busy fashion calendar: Designer Janessa Bautista of A Fortes Design, a notable talent on Portland’s green scene, will host a trunk show at fave Mississippi boutique Pin-Me Apparel, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5.
Enjoy drinks, snacks and a raffle while browsing the latest from Bautista’s creative collection of simple, fashion-forward garments made from handmade textiles.
Recently seen on the runway at Portland Fashion Week, Bautista’s designs mix cute, sustainable styles in muted earth tones with unexpected use of color – like bright red buttons on a pale canvas shirtdress, or creative colorblocking.
We’ve been describing the look as “Star Trek goes to the prairie,” which is exactly what Northwest women want to romp around in this fall.
