New Crave maven + holiday shopping party

You don’t know CRAVE! Forget everything you know of Portland shopping parties past. Crave Portland has a cool new headmistress, and this year’s Holiday Cravings party is set to sparkle anew at the Bison Building, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. next Wednesday, Dec. 9.
Marketing maven Mai Tran purchased the Portland branch of the Crave company earlier this year, and she’s been making steady moves to up the style ante for all of Crave Portland’s soirees, gatherings and social networking. Along with Tran’s improvements, the basic Crave company marketing premise remains the same: Connect Portland shops, designers and business owners with shoppers and buyers, and celebrate women entreprenuers along the way. (Neat!)
“There is a lot of room to grow Crave, make it even more appealing for young professionals and find a hip new audience,” said Tran. “For this year’s holiday shopping party, we’re bringing in new vendors and making sure shoppers will have access to the most current, trendsetting merchandise.”
That’s good news for holiday shoppers who want to be sure they’re getting their money’s worth for the event’s $15 to $20 tickets ($8 for students). So what exactly is included in this hot ticket? Shoppers can browse for clothing, jewelry, accessories and gifts from more than 30 female-owned boutiques and businesses; the first 500 guests will receive goodie bags filled with gifts and treats; and all the while you’ll enjoy oatmeal cookie cocktails, live music, a fashion show of winter trends, raffles, prizes and more you can find on the Crave Web site.
Plus, a portion of proceeds from the event tickets and raffles will benefit The American Cancer Society.
