There are so many things to love love love about summers in Portland. On the top of our must-do-every-weekend list? Neighborhood fairs! Community, friends, fashion, artists and music… what more could a local fashion news site ask for? Coming up Saturday, August 7 is the annual Fremont Fest, and already we are applying sunscreen in preparation for some fashion-y fun in the sun.
An annual celebration of community and a staple of the Beaumont-Wilshire neighborhood, the Fremont Fest will feature a day of activities that promotes and celebrates the eclecticism of all who choose to live + work + play in PDX. Each year, the fest draws thousands of people looking to mingle, shop, and explore.
Keep your eyes (and ears) peeled for craft and art booths, street performers, local bands, cake walks and pub crawls. The fun starts at 10 a.m. and will continue well in to the evening. The event kick-off is a sure-to-be crazy adorable parade of cute neighborhood kids on decorated bikes alongside equally-cute local pets.
Northeast Fremont street is home to such neat shops as Found on Fremont, Shop Adorn, Rerun and Amenity Shoes. Those of you who haven’t spent a lot of time in this charming, family-friendly and neat shopping neighborhood will definitely want to make the trek for Fremont Fest 2010.
