Indie Alberta clothing and accessories boutique, Garnish, kicks off a three-week charity shopping event with a holiday party and sale from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19.
The party celebrates Garnish boutique’s holiday fundraiser for Hope Dolls, a Portland non-profit for at-risk youth. Shoppers who donate lightly used clothing between the kickoff party and Thursday, Dec. 10 will receive a 10 percent discount on any regular priced item in the store, plus the store will donate 10 percent of the sale to Hope Dolls.
During the party, you’ll be treated to live music, snacks and a 20 percent discount on your entire purchase with a gently used clothing donation. Our favorite find for your discount is the Arabella dress, a kinda swingy ’60s lace-over-slip cocktail dress in red, brown or black (right).
Garnish owner and designer Erica Lurie said she is partnering with Hope Dolls during the holidays because she really wants to put the focus on giving – to her customers, and to the Hope Dolls programs that help abused and neglected children.
“Of course, we all want to buy gifts for our loved ones,” Lurie said, “but we also want to remember there are people much more in need.”
Now, thanks to Lurie, you can do both.
