We know Portland is crawling with sexy ladies (and fellas!) who have the strut, attitude and style needed to rule the catwalk for Portland Fashion Week. Here is your chance to participate in what is poised to be the biggest, most press covered fashion week in PDX history. All we can say is, watch your back, New York. There’s a new fashion sheriff in town.
Portland Fashion Week is putting out a female model open casting call for fashionistas to walk the runway for the Spring/Summer 2011 collections, which will be held in Portland Wednesday, Oct. 6 through Sunday, Oct. 10. Models do not need to be available for the dates of all shows, but will need some flexibility to participate in various fittings, etc.
If you are between 5’8” and 6’0” and wear a dress size between 0-6, then grab a pair of heels and head to Doubletree Hotel this Sunday, August 29, between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. They need a few hopeful males, too, who should be between 5’10” and 6’2” with a waist size 28-32.
While compensation for non-agency models is slight (i.e. experience, work-for-trade), it is a chance to participate in a community oriented project that garners worldwide exposure. Designer showings this year include Project Runway 7 winner Seth Aaron Henderson’s SolarWorld Collection, Pendleton’s high-fashion “Opening Ceremony” collection, Souchi, Idom (right, 2009 collection), Seattle favorite Suzabelle and tons more fabulously talented local and non-local designers.
