Designer extravaganza on Mississippi Thursday

Mississippi Avenue is where it’s at this Thursday, when neighborhood shops will stay open late for holiday celebrations and specials, and Phlox Clothing Boutique will host a Filly Designs trunk show, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10.
Phlox is a favorite source for sleek and utterly wearable modern designs, like the Filly Designs pieces (above) featured by Portland designer Emily Christensen this week. Let the Phlox gals ply you with wine and treats while Christensen shows off a few Phlox favorites from Filly’s current and past seasons.
Filly’s signature style is simple elegance and flattering, pull-on cuts without pesky zippers, buttons or fasteners of any kind – which makes her designs so easy to wear. Christensen said she wants women wearing her clothing to admire and appreciate themselves, and to feel purposeful, sexy and comfortable in their skin. “I want the woman wearing Filly to fall in love with herself.”
