Ready to party like it’s the happiest day of your life? No matter if you’re engaged to be wed or wed to a simple love of gorgeous bridal fashion, summer’s most extravagant bridal event is marching into view. Oregon Bride magazine will host it’s annual Best of Bride party and first ever bridal fashion show at Pure Space, West Coast Event Productions’ new event venue, 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 8.
Brides can be the first to get their hands on the new Oregon Bride Fall/Winter issue (right), mix and mingle with the best wedding vendors, and see some hands-on action from caterers including Vibrant Table, a candy buffet from Novia Event Fashions, and florists including as Blum Floral Design and Punch Portland. Plus, as an extra fun favor, they’ve invited Fliptography down to provide guests with FREE photo flipbooks.
Then, of course, there’s the fashion show. Portland is home to a high number of astonishingly talented bridal designers, and Oregon Bride magazine has rounded up some of it’s favorite gowns, which will be featured in the new issue. Flowing down the runway you’ll see textured, layered, and voluminous skirts with vintage details from the circus-inspired Ladies & Gentleman fashion spread (above); and structured, drapey body-skimming dresses from the sleek and modern Body of Evidence feature.
See four incredible Vera Wang gowns from the new 2010 collection (right), which Oregon Bride editor Liz Hummer says is the first time Portlanders can get a good look at the gowns (they’re available at Divine Designs). Hummer says we’ll also be treated to views of new styles from Monique Lhuillier, plus gowns from Magnifique Boutique, Anna’s Bridal, Charlotte’s Weddings and More, The Silver Lining, The English Dept. (Alix & Kelly). The fashion show also will feature exclusive designs from locals, including Sophie Bridal Couture (known for doing custom couture work that’s pretty affordable – usually under $2,000) and recreated vintage pieces from Urchin Redesign.
Hummer has devoted months of hard work putting together the Fall/Winter issue of the magazine, and choosing select showstopping looks for the show. “I’m incredibly excited about this year’s party, and not just because this is my first issue as editor of Oregon Bride,” she said. “This is the first time we’re putting together a bridal fashion show, and it’s going to be breathtaking to see all these gowns from local designers and boutiques in person. I have a feeling brides could discover their dream dress on the runway.”
It’s a dream venue, too, and the runway setup inside Pure Space should be a dazzler in and of itself. The new space is a huge 14,000 square-foot renovated warehouse with floor-to-ceiling windows and a mezzanine, so brides interested in booking the venue can see it all in action.
Tickets are $10 for brides, but right now they’re running a 2-for-1 ticket special when you buy tickets online here.
