A grand opening, a death and mini golf? A lot is happening at Radish Underground this Thursday, May 6.
First off, Radish is celebrating with its brand new neighbors and PDX Pride Photo Contest co-conspirators Tender Loving Empire (TLE), watching as they finally open up shop in their new (and spatially improved) location next door. TLE, a.k.a. purveyors of all things artistic, will be hosting its grand opening alongside Radish Underground at 6 p.m. as part of regular First Thursday celebrations.
But not all is well. With new life, comes death. Radish Underground will concurrently be mourning the end of its menswear section, but lucky for us (and you) they’re making the best of it by offering huge discounts on remaining men’s inventory. Scoop up some presents on the cheap to gift to your BF next time you’re running late, miss an anniversary or forget to return calls.
As usual we’ve saved the best for last, and in this case the best is mini golf! ‘Cause this is a killer store that knows how to have a good time (and who seriously doesn’t like mini golf?) Radish Underground has set up a mini putt putt hole as part of its window display and is offering customers the chance to play for a discount. Which is awesome. God, Portland rules. We can’t wait to give it a swing and see what kind of savings a hole in one gets us!
So to sum it all up: there will be food, drinks, mini golf, big sales and the grand opening of Tender Loving Empire next door at Radish this Thursday. While you’re there make sure and check out some neat mini-cardboard instruments (above right) made by John Bacone, a sculptor, filmmaker and Radish Underground’s featured artist of the month.
