Una boutique sale + Luce event space opening

For such a tiny space, East Burnside jewel box Una certainly packs a big style punch. Equal parts strange, other worldly and timelessly stylish, Una is the place you want to check out when you are looking for something truly special. And if you walk in right now, there’s a good chance that something special will be on sale because right now all of Una’s spring/summer merchandise is marked down 20 to 70 percent.

Look for new stuff by Creatures of Comfort (gotta love those summer stripes!), Selima Optique sunglasses and Aesa Limited Edition Necklaces. F.Y.I. Una is only one of three boutiques in the U.S that carries the Aesa line (right).

In addition to running arguably one of the most gorgeously indie shops in PDX, owner Giovanna Navarre and her husband John are in the process of opening Luce, a new special event space that is also located on East Burnside. Having already hosted birthday parties, wedding receptions, wine tastings and special dinners in private, Luce will be coming out of the closet (so to speak) with three different events open to the public starting Friday, July 23.

First up is an installation by local artist Ashley Helvey and a five-course vegetarian meal for $45 (plus $25 if you want accompanying wine pairings). Dinner will be served at 8 p.m. and will feature a live sound performance by Valet. The next day, Helvey will be back from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. to teach a felting workshop that will show students how to create felt from raw sheep’s wool. Fashion, food, and felt. They’ve got it all covered.
