Neat SHOP
Solestruck.com pops up in the Pearl
Have you noticed Portland’s new pop-up store shopping trend? Online retailers and independent designers or artists who don’t have brick-and-mortar stores are popping up all over town, opening temporary outlets to showcase their merch to new shoppers.
Portland-based online shoe retailer Solestruck is the latest pop-up project, opening this Friday, Oct. 30 in the Pearl District to showcase and sell more than 20,000 hot shoe styles through January 31, 2010.
Stop by the Grand Opening event on Nov. 7, when Solestruck will give away free pairs of Vans Classics to the first 100 people who come into the store barefoot.
While the shoetailer has an international presence, the fact that it’s based in Portland means you’ll find plenty of stylish heels and boots suited to living in the Northwest. In other words, there are tons of boots and flats in the mix, and at a good range of price points.
More than 75 popular brands include Sam Edelman, Jeffrey Campbell, Seychelles, Charles by Charles David, Oh Deer, Vince Camuto, Donald J. Pliner, Bronx, Camper, Kenneth Cole, Ben Sherman, Dansko and many more.
From cute to comfy to fierce, some of our favorite new finds include: red leather Her Majesty pumps from Seychelles; classic, clompy lace-up Dupree boots from Sam Edelman; and sexy, strappy Marly Chain heels from Jeffrey Campbell.
