Mattel unveils new collection of “Mad Men” Barbie dolls

Some news is just too good to not rehash: The New York times reported today that Mattel will soon roll out a new collection of Mad Men Barbie Dolls!

Four dolls retailing for about $75 will be based on the lead characters from AMC’s hit “Mad Men” TV show – Don and Betty Draper, of course, plus Don’s Sterling Cooper business colleague Roger Sterling, and his mistress, the sexy secretary Joan Holloway.

It appears that cocktails and cigarettes are not included, and there’s also no mention of whether or not Mattel will unveil a sweet collection of itty bitty mid-century modern furniture to match. But we certainly hope so.

And most of all? We hope the kiddies won’t learn lessons in chain smoking and infidelity from playing with their swingin’ ’60s dolls. You may need to buy a lot more Barbies to keep your lone Don doll happy.
