Physical Element “Catwalk” Fall Fashion Show photo recap

Physical Element proprietress Jo Carter staged a sleek international “Catwalk” Fall Fashion Show Thursday night, packing the Pearl District’s sunlit Pinnacle Pavilion with sophisticated shoppers, local fashion media, producers, models, stylists, designers and one very conspicuous TV and stage starlet seated in the front row.

We were excited to see TNT’s “Leverage” star Gina Bellman at the show (it made us feel like extras in yet another of the Leverage gang’s fashion capers), but we were even more excited about the local and international Fall 2010 designs Carter presented on the runway.

Coming to you by way of Paris, Tokyo, Barcelona and Portland, Carter staged the event as a preview of the cool collections arriving at Physical Element this fall, and she made the designs available for pre-order during the show. In fact, you can still save 10 percent on everything you see here (and more!) if you place your orders with Physical Element by Friday, April 30.

“Catwalk” treated us to looks that ranged from architectural to Avante-garde, set to atmospheric Euro trance music that matched the upbeat feel of the clothes. We saw playfully cool layering pieces from French-Belgian label Ou Soleil; sporty separates from French line Iconoclast; a local showcase from WeMa, Renee Armstrong and Kate Troyer; an incredible millinery parade from Dayna Pinkham and Amy Downs; boxy and minimalist pieces from Japan’s Moyuru; and bright, body-conscious dresses from Barcelona’s Isabel de Pedro.

All designs were paired with shoes from Halo and hats by Pinkham and Downs, and modeled by pros from Q6 Talent who were aided in getting gorgeous with hair by Belle Epoque Salon and makeup from Fez Studio. If a picture is worth a thousand words, these are worth at least a cool $20K. Make your checks payable to Carter and her talented fashion friends for all their hard work giving Portland one chic Catwalk.
