Watch Pinkham’s “Procession” slideshow

In stark contrast to the slick Portland Fashion Week productions taking place in the industrial shipyards this week, some of Portland’s uniquely talented independent designers put on a fantastic display of quite a different sort in Southeast Portland last night.
Inspired milliner Dayna Pinkham presented a funereal style procession of her latest headwear designs, worn by models dressed in mostly black, Gothic Victorian-influenced attire. The procession of silky black bustle gowns and somber-but-beautiful designs topped by felt and feathered hats made its way through Lone Fir Cemetery beneath a crisp, blue October sky. All the while our inner Goths squealed with delight as photographers crept around the gravestones like undead paparazzi.
Kudos and thanks for keeping Portland fashion inspiring go to Pinkham and designers Elizabeth Dye, Kate Towers, Frocky Jack Morgan, MothLove, Emily Ryan, Holly Stalder, Jayme Hansen, Duchess Clothier, Emily Bixler and Valerie Mathus.

Thanks for posting this recap – although the Procession went by slowly, it also went by too fast!

Oh Miss Dayna – you are bejeweled with creative artistic class and style. sorry I missed this one; how beautiful and romantic. Yes!
Your “crowns” are time pieces to be passed on. I MUST add another to my collection.
