Hey Portland, these socks rock!

Erica Easley is a total sock star. The founder of local label Rock Socks made headlines over a year ago with her best-selling Obama socks, and now she’s launched a whole new Portland-inspired line of kickin’ knee highs for what she calls our “sock-centric” city.

This fall, Oregonians with a hankering for hosiery can make a colorful sock statement about lovable things like beer, Evil or Portland. And coming soon? Bacon! Oh yes, an adorable pink-and-red bacon sock is on the way, along with new styles that say “genius” and “kosher.”

“There is definitely something about Portland and socks,” said Easley. “I think it has to do with the weather, the popularity of bicycles and the city’s openness to quirky style and self-expression. It’s a perfect confluence of these things that makes Portland sock-centric as opposed to other cities like, say, Austin. It’s just too darn hot there to rock socks on a regular basis.”
