Here’s a neat deal to warm your heart and your toes: Portland-based footwear fanatics Sock It To Me will donate 100 percent of proceeds from Web sales to benefit earthquake relief efforts in Haiti, starting today through Friday, Jan. 29.

Locally owned and operated by Carrie Atkinson, Sock It To Me socks are now carried by more than 400 retailers worldwide. The brand is growing in popularity for its comfy, colorful socks that range from funky to classic. You’ll find whimsical knee-highs for her, covered in stripes or fun patterns and prints, including birds, hearts, feathers and roller skates, to name a few. And short, stretchy styles for men come emblazoned with lightning bolts and cheeky mustache prints.

Proceeds from all Web sales this week will go to the Portland-based Mangrove Fund to help provide support to impoverished Haitian communities.

“We just want to help,” said Atkinson. “Hearing about all the stories and seeing all the tragic coverage has gripped our hearts, and the way we can help most is through our Web site sales. Also, the Mangrove Fund is a really dedicated group of people who I trust will make the most of our donation.”
