Studio del Fiore vintage brooch bridal bouquets

Someone marry us right now! This spectacular vintage brooch bridal bouquet from Studio del Fiore is one-of-a-kind, and it took Portland floral designer Lisa Martin several months to create. One lucky bride-to-be can acquire this beauty of a bouquet on Thursday night at the annual The Art of Weddings local designer bridal event (in fact, it’s such a stunner it’s probably worth snapping up even if you don’t yet have a groom).
Martin, who participates in The Art of Weddings showcase every year, said she likes to create one special piece each year that branches away from her usual floral designs so someone can make a hands-on purchase at the event, which is obviously not something you can do with flowers. Last year, for example, she designed a beautiful bridal bouquet entirely out of feathers.
Inspiration for this year’s brooch bouquet came from Martin’s mom, who brought over a big box of costume jewelry last Christmas so Martin could make a kitschy bejeweled Christmas tree. Instead, she got a better idea: “There was so much cool stuff in there, I said ‘I bet I could weave these together into a bridal bouquet,’” Martin said. “I used vintage brooches, earrings, rings – anything that looked like flowers. There are about 75 pieces in the bouquet, and it took more than three months to collect them all.”
If your heart is set on one of these stunners, Martin says you can save time by giving her your own vintage pieces, gems and brooches and she’ll weave them into a bouquet for you. That’s a great way to save on the cost (about $500), and also a sweet way to incorporate meaningful family gems and jewels into your wedding day.

I was planning on having this done by a designer in L.A. It would be nice to use someone local instead!
That is fantastic! Rhi, you realize that means The Neat Sheet is working! I mean, helping women find out about all these cool local shops and designers! You just made my day! xo-Karen

i have to have one of these for my wedding next year! Simply fabulous!
This would be awesome for my daughter’s wedding! I have tons of vintage jewelry, could I make it myself. I have always done lots of craftsy things, and I think I could do this with a few pointers, we’re trying to save some money. What are the basics of the bouquet?
Hello,
Were any of the brooches destroyed in the process by glueing or are they just weaved in somehow?
