Great expectations for your next trip to Flutter

Portland-based artist and designer Sonia Kasparian, who debuted her ephemeral Urchin line last winter, has a collection of clothing and jewelry at Flutter that Miss Havisham would die for. Kasparian reconstructs vintage dresses and fabric scraps into modern works of wearable art, with raw finishes and delightfully unexpected details nothing short of a hot mess.
Flutter, Mississippi Street’s cheerfully cluttered boutique, did a recent makeover of the entire store and brought in three new truck loads of small treasures and found objects. Not only can you check out the latest Urchin designs, but you’ll get lost for hours among pretty piles of unique home décor, jewelry, bath products and books. Shopping Flutter is like being the first person to arrive at the greatest estate sale of your life. There’s even a vintage carnival wheel and… a goat? Yeah, not sure what that’s all about.
