Vodka’s best friend Chelsea Handler – a cheeky comedian, best-selling author, talk show hostess and all-around awesome funny girl – will bring her irreverent stand-up act to Portland this Friday as part of her 2010 Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang Tour.
Handler will perform two shows (we love her THAT much!) at Keller Auditorium, along with opening act Guy Branum, 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. this Friday, March 19. She will also make a book signing appearance at Powell’s Books at 3 p.m. the same day.
Our favorite badass blonde kicked off her tour in Chicago, Ill. on Wednesday, March 10, and she’ll hit 21 cities to promote her third book, “Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang.” The book, which you can nab for $25.99 at Powell’s Books, is another hilarious and candid take on the best bits of Handler’s life, from career to sex to family – and it’s a smash success right out of the gate.
Handler’s last book, “Are You There, Vodka? It’s me, Chelsea,” released in April of 2008, was a New York Times bestseller and prompted popular author Jennifer Weiner to joke, “Chelsea Handler writes like Judy Blume, if Judy Blume were into vodka, Ecstasy, and sleeping with midgets and nineteen-year-olds.” Get the idea?
