Ready for your first honest-to-goodness local spring fashion fling? Portland designer Alyson Clair will showcase her new Clair Vintage Spring/Summer 2010 Collection at Union Rose boutique in Montavilla, 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 2. And better yet, Clair will gift one lucky Neat Sheet reader a FREE designer dress, skirt or top of their choice!
Clair’s designs, which are made right here in Portland, are sweetly retro looking and cut to flatter every figure. An expert with patterns and cuts, Clair’s pieces manage to fit and flow over hourglass curves and stick straight shapes alike. It’s also important to note Clair’s dedication to locally made goods. “I am trying to encourage people to look inside their clothing, and be aware of where it comes from,” Clair said. “Supporting local is not just buying from local shops, but buying locally made goods as well.”
For spring, Clair’s whipped together a line of easy boat-neck dresses in stripes and solids, flirty faux-wrap dresses, and simple, sleeveless tops with detailed necklines. “The line is Nautical themed, but it has a classic style that can stay in your closet for a while,” Clair said. “The sizing runs XS-XL so it can fit a variety of body types comfortably.” You can find her designs locally at Union Rose, Pin-Me Apparel, Moxie and Radish Underground.

What a great Nautical themed set without being to “Nautical”. No Navy bows and such just clean lines suggestive of boating. I especially like the little black dress and the two piece blue outfit.
